Friendster usually having a scheduled maintenance. But now their maintenance is too long. According to some sources, before maintenance they are losing their “friends”. Another source said that it was hacked by some filipino. But this is not confirmed yet. All we can do is wait until friendster team doing their press release.

On crunchbase friendster page, there is “hacker” pledged that he hacked the friendster system, and another comment from “Friendster Help” saying that the friendster server has a problem due to power outage. Here is the complete quote :

We’re aware of the problem that some users are having with missing friends. We experienced a major power outage the other day, that we’re still recovering from. We are actively working on resolving the problem with missing friends. Rest assured that no friends have actually been lost — even though it may appear so on the website! The problem should be fixed within the next 24 hours. We apologize for this inconvenience. Friendster Team

It was due to the power outage in Sunnyvale, California where friendster’s datacenter is located.
Quality Technology Services (Globix) QTS’ building has lost their power. According to the source, They are doing some construction and they hit something they were not
there’s a fire explosion somewhere in LA. Is that the cause of the power outrage?
