But now their maintenance is too long. According to some sources, before maintenance they are losing their “friends”. Another source said that it was hacked by some filipino. But this is not confirmed yet. All we can do is wait until friendster team doing their press release.

Founded in 2002, Friendster is one of the web’s older social networking services. Adults, 18 and up can join and connect with friends, family, school, groups, activities and interests. The site currently has over 50 million users.

UPDATE @17 Nov 2:03am(GMT+8) :

On crunchbase friendster page, there is “hacker” pledged that he hacked the friendster system, and another comment from “Friendster Help” saying that the friendster server has a problem due to power outage. Here is the complete quote :

to all, friendster wasnt hacked by anyone, that guy is just pretending and you people are fools. We’re aware of the problem that some users are having with missing friends. We experienced a major power outage the other day, that we’re still recovering from. We are actively working on resolving the problem with missing friends. Rest assured that no friends have actually been lost — even though it may appear so on the website! The problem should be fixed within the next 24 hours. We apologize for this inconvenience. Friendster Team

Although there is someone pledged from Friendster Team, Please be aware that this is not confirmed yet. That comment doesn’t represent the real friendster team. One more time. All we can do is wait until friendster doing press release about what happen in their own site.  :)
There is one more about i wanna say. Although you cant login from friendster.com main page and viewing your profile, You still can check messages and comments from your friendster account through your mail inbox. Of course this can be done if you are turning on email notification on your account setting. I just noticed it this evening.
