Is it too much that important to back up your data?

To quote a friend of mine ” There are only two types of harddrives, the ones that have failed and the ones that will fail”. And yes it is too important to backup your data because the storage drive on your Desktop PC or notebook might crash without warning. Just to remind all, no matter how expensive it is, it’s still electronics. Without any further ado, below are the ways to keep your data safe;

01. Organize your data nicely on your computer.

02. Regularly Make a back up,

03. And make it multiple copies in some separate places.

04. Find the right medium to back up your data.

05. If it’s possible, instead of having one, make copies of your data in several mediums like CDs, DVDs or external drives.

06. Name it, and keep it in safe and reachable place.

07. Avoid to having 2 or more copies for the same file on a single harddrive, even if it is in different partition.  Just in case you lose one of your harddrives

08. Buy a large CD / DVD storage case, really worth a penny.

09. In any other possibilities, you can use online storage that available on the internet. Keep it ONLINE and access it everywhere, come on people, this is 2009.

10. DO NOT back up your data in the middle of the night, chances of loosing data or wrongly-backing up your data is very high especially if your brain is exhausted during a whole day activity. Go get some sleep and back up your data tomorrow.

11. Lastly, go get some snacks and sofdrinks or watch some movies while the system backing up your data, because it’s boring.

Needs

Remember, it’s always starting from needs. If you can see what other people needs(or maybe your needs) then you can have a chance to think that maybe there’s a lot people gonna buy your product. You have to think big and take the complete perspective of the market.

Availability

Once you get the need. Check it out, is it already available? did it have the same key feature with the current product on the market? If you are the first, then it should be a good starting point for you. Pioneer has always a good starting point ( Remember when Bill Gates released his DOS product and  sell it to IBM? No one ever done that before). But you have to think at least 2-3 steps forward because once you create it. Somebody will try to beat you.

Unique

So next step is, you have to more innovate your product to be unique. Take a look on iPod, it’s unique design that makes a big sold. Apple is well respected company and they always has something unique to provide indeed. The point is, when you’re created it unique,it’s easier to remember your product. It will make a brand awareness to the public.

Smart Marketing Technique

Instead of lie, people are always loved in honest. The question is how? Some marketing technique is a genius, and they dont lie. For example, remember Apple “think different” campaign in 1997. Instead of made an advertisement in superbowl spot or advertise in computer magazine. They decided to advertise it on a fashion magazine. Can you imagine a computer’s advertising in most popular fashion magazine? at that time this idea is considered as “freak”. The result is remarkably popular!. It become a turning point for apple. Economicaly Feasible

This will be easier if you’re having competitors, all you have to do is just make a cheaper product with a better feature. If you are the pioneer, try to think as a buyers. Do you think your product is overprice? Will you buy it?. Although there are so many factors to think, I considered this as very important one. Why there’s a lot of people is using PC are it’s more cheap than an iMac.

Stay Hungry, and Foolish.

This is quoted from Steve’s job’s commancement speech in harvard. You have to be always hungry to create new ideas. Still be a fool so you can accept new things. Most of major innovators are always getting failed first. But like Andrew S. Groove said, only the paranoid survive. Always aware with the situation, so you are able to change quickly when your environment changes.
